  • We seek students who are organized, ethical, flexible, responsible, calm under pressure, helpful, willing to learn, confident, passionate, and who want to create a positive learning environment for their peers.

Being an RA can provide you with skills in leadership, conflict resolution and mediation, time management, and creativity.

How to apply

  • The RA application will be available on October 30, 2020. Visit Handshake to apply. Upload your resume which will be reviewed by staff at The Exchange. Please allow two business days for your resume to be reviewed. 

RA applicants

  • Please attach your resume and answers to the essay questions to the Handshake application.
  • You will be required to submit ONE letter of recommendation from a current or past Residential and Commuter Life staff member. The individual writing the recommendation for you should email their letter to housing@marian.edu.
  • You will also be required to sent a link (provided in RA Job Posting) to ONE individual (i.e., previous supervisor, Marian faculty/staff) who can speak on skills such a time management and relationship building, to name a few. 
  • Your application and all supporting materials MUST be submitted by 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2020.

Interview process

  • If all requirements are met, you may be asked to participate in interviews held Saturday, February 13, 2021.
  • You will be notified about hiring decisions via email on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time Marian University student
  • Must be in good academic and social standing at time of application and during employment
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 at time of application and during employment
  • Must have lived on a university/college campus for the period of at least one semester
  • Must attend one Resident Assistant Information Session
  • Must be available for the Interview Day
  • Must be available for the entire duration of all training sessions (training dates to be determined and posted at a later date).

Timeline:

  • October 30: Applications available on Handshake
  • January 31: Applications and supporting materials due
  • February 13: New Resident Assistant interview day
  • February 22: Decision letters will be delivered via email
  • March 1: Acceptance or declination of hiring offer due
